What to expect
Tropical plants will take over the glasshouse allowing visitors to delve into the science of these mysterious plants and understand the diversity of environments behind Brazil’s flora. Weave your way through an enchanted forest of orchids before passing through a tunnel of tropical plants. Look out for the two enormous ‘Rainforest Tree’ sculptures, covered in Oncidium orchids and bromeliads.
February is carnival season in Brazil and our festival this year will aim to bring some of that vibrant atmosphere to Kew.
During the festival, visitors will have the chance to discover Kew’s work within Brazil and its many habitats and ecosystems.

Elisa Biondi, Display Horticulturalist says, ‘This year the pond display will be a true explosion of colour – a real carnival. We want to capture the essence of Brazil; take visitors on a journey through the biomes of this incredible country, while showing the range of conservation and science work that Kew is doing with South America.’
